At our nurturing primary school, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and caring environment where every child is valued, listened to and supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We recognise that children learn best when they feel safe, secure and respected, and we actively promote a culture of vigilance, trust and openness where concerns are shared and acted upon promptly.
We take a child-centred approach to safeguarding, recognising that every child’s circumstances are unique. All staff have a shared responsibility to protect children from harm, to identify concerns early, and to respond in a timely and appropriate manner. Safeguarding practice in our school is underpinned by strong, respectful relationships with children and families, clear procedures, and a commitment to early intervention.
We work in partnership with parents, carers and a range of external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils. This includes close collaboration with social care, early help practitioners, family help practitioners, and the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), as well as other relevant professionals. Through these partnerships, we aim to provide coordinated, effective support that meets the holistic needs of children and families, ensuring that safeguarding is proactive, responsive and rooted in the best interests of the child.
