  • Year 3 Visit to Dalton Estate

Tue 16 Jun 2015 Miss Jackson

On Tuesday 2nd June we were kindly invited by Mr and Mrs Hotham to visit Dalton Estate. We had an absolutely amazing day and found out so much about how the estate is run and also life in the countryside. The day consisted of eight activities; game keeping, visiting the garden, meeting a shepherd and his sheep, observing some gun dogs in action, finding out about arable farming and how the crops grown in our area are used, joinery, woodcutting and also how beef cattle are reared. We particularly loved meeting the two gorgeous labrador puppies!

Thank you to Mr and Mrs Hotham and also all the exhibitors who ensured we had a wonderful day.

  • Swimming Costumes and Dresses Arrive in Kenya!

Thank you for your kind donations of swimming costumes and summer dresses. As you can see Mr and Mrs Waters  have safely delivered the clothing items to the children at Esther's School. These items are greatly appreciated and will make a big difference to the children in the two Nairobi schools. (Did you spot the union jack print swimming trunks in the UK and Kenya photographs?)

Mon 11 May 2015 Miss Jackson
The Junior Road Safety Officers organised a speed awareness night in Cherry Burton. The session provided us with good evidence that there is work to be done to make sure that everyone is aware of the 20mph speed limit. Our 'slow down outside school' campaign is about to begin....watch this space!
  • Year 3 Trip to Murton Park

Wed 29 Apr 2015 Miss Jackson
Year 3 have had a fantastic day being Vikings for the day at Murton park. We were dressed in Viking costumes and then had a presentation by a warrior called Leaf. He let us experience a long house and showed us how the Vikings would have lived. After that we were given our own Viking village where we spent the rest of the day. We had a brilliant day and learnt so much about our history topic. Thankfully we didn't lose anyone to become slaves for another tribe! Well done for behaving so perfectly Year 3.
