Thankfully the sun shone brightly for our second attempt at Sports Day. Well done to all the children for trying their best and having fun competing in the obstacle race, flat race, egg and spoon race and skipping. Congratulations to the Red team who were our Sports Day champions!
A huge thank you to Mrs Webb for organising the afternoon, to the volunteers who ensured the event ran smoothly and to parents and friends who came to support.
The Reception new starters and some of their parents had a fun afternoon, enjoying a teddy bear's picnic, scavenger hunt, stories, songs and much more...
On Tuesday 2nd June we were kindly invited by Mr and Mrs Hotham to visit Dalton Estate. We had an absolutely amazing day and found out so much about how the estate is run and also life in the countryside. The day consisted of eight activities; game keeping, visiting the garden, meeting a shepherd and his sheep, observing some gun dogs in action, finding out about arable farming and how the crops grown in our area are used, joinery, woodcutting and also how beef cattle are reared. We particularly loved meeting the two gorgeous labrador puppies!
Thank you to Mr and Mrs Hotham and also all the exhibitors who ensured we had a wonderful day.
To end an action packed half term many children performed in Cherry's Got Talent. The talent show included a wide range of talents including; singing, dancing, playing the piano, joke telling, gymnastics, judo and much more! Year 6 did a great job in presenting the talent show and thanks go to Mrs Flintham for organising a super event. It was lovely to celebrate the range of talents that our pupils have! Huge congratulations to our winner, Ellie Walker in Year 6, for her show stopping gymnastics performance!
